This recording was born out of a recital I played that featured music from the 1960's. The songs that I love from Bacharach and Mancini had such beautiful melodies and peaceful vibes, that I wanted to turn it into a full length solo guitar recording of arrangements and a few originals. My nylon-string guitar matches the mellow mood of the tunes. https://www.amazon.com/s?k=mark+mazzatenta&i=digital-music&ref=nb_sb_noss_1
The Balance is the first recording by the band Mazzjazz. A very ambitious project, it includes music styles for everyone: smooth jazz, modern jazz, improvisation, some guitar synth, some sax, melodic ballads, and 2 intimate duets by the Mazz Brothers.
I live in Greensboro, North Carolina and have been in the music business for 30 years. I perform, compose, and teach. I have a Master of Music degree in Guitar Performance and work at High Point University. I give private lessons at the Music Academy of NC. My publications of guitar arrangements are available at:
My main influences are classical and jazz, but I love other music, too--like jazz fusion, classic rock, and progressive metal. I'm a versatile performer who plays instrumental music (no vocals).
I play at weddings, country clubs, hotels, restaurants, college workshops, etc. Here is what I can provide for wedding ceremonies or background music for any event: solo classical guitar, solo jazz guitar, guitar and bass, guitar and flute, guitar and sax, jazz quartet.
